Neon Indian – Polish Girl

September 22, 2011

Neon Indian’s chill wave music came out with a bang in 2009 with their debut LP, Psychic Chasms. Songs like Deadbeat Summer and Should Have Taken Acid With You were instant hits and people fell in love with Neon Indian. With their second LP, Era Extra├▒a, Neon Indian seems to have failed to re-create the interest and love that everyone had for Psychic Chasms. There is much less bubbly, playful fun in this album and much more drugged-out, muddy melodies. However, Polish Girl is clearly an exception. Polish Girl, like Deadbeat Summer, is what Neon Indian should be doing. if only the rest of the album sounded this good.
