Keepaway – Cake

Keepaway’s sound is about as playful and, in some ways, juvenile as the game the band is named after. Their mix of Reggae beats, Williamsburg hooks and post-animal-collective indie rock whines combine to form a something that sounds a hell of a lot like Noah Lennox covering Why?. But Keepaway is pulling it off, not because they shy away from mimicking the bands they’re listening to, but because they embrace it. While their sound is certainly familiar, their sonic attitude is not.
