Field Music – A New Town

January 17, 2012

Field Music is, in some way, true to their name, meticulously crafting songs that have a openness to them, as if they write without a proverbial creative roof over their heads, never allowing the confines of their genre to stifle their sound. A lot of it has to do with the airy vocals of the Brewis brothers, which are delivered with the same sort of energy that fellow englishmen, Jof Owen, of The Boy Least Likely To brings to a track. “A New Town” has a bounce and chug to it that some of Field Music’s art-pop sometimes lacks, and it totally works when contrasted over the band’s signature bright harmonies.
