Zambri – Hundrded Hearts

April 4, 2012

Zambri is a “buzz-band’ of sorts, garnering all kinds of attention in all the right places. But that word, “buzz,” usually implies that the subject of the hype somehow doesn’t deserve it all — that the locus of all the attention is spurious or something. But with Zambri, that’s simply not the case, and that’s mostly thanks to the absolutely strange sonic signature that sisters, Cristi Jo and Jessica Zambri, build their songs out of. “Hundred Hearts” sounds as it was written and recorded in a dark and dank factory, machines running, workers sweating. Zambri’s LP will be out this spring, and if this track is any indication, it will a strong debut full of simultaneously catchy and spooky pop.
