Stereowave – Scars of Mine

November 15, 2013

Anything considered 80’s synthwave I tend to be a bit of a sucker for. It’s definitely a fast-emerging genre with acts like Futurecop! And FM Attack leading the charge. Stereowave’s new track “Scars of Mine” is unique because it sort of bridges the gap from then to now, featuring elements of sound from both time periods. It’s easy to appreciate the retro synths and muzzled vocals on display in this euphoric, gem of a song. Hell, there might even be some

traces of disco-funk if you listen close enough. But as much this track feels like a hit from the past, after a few times through it’s obvious we’ve got a modern dance classic on our hands as well. We’re excited to see how Stereowave’s sound continues to change and evolve as their career unfolds.
