Yung Lean – Kyoto
A good rap track is generally a tough sell for me. Hell, there are only a handful of songs on the year that I deem worthy of repeated listening. Now part of that is on me and my specific taste, but I also think that it’s too easy nowadays to string together a cheesy beat, add in
a rap verse, and call it the next big thing. What sets Yung Lean’s “Kyoto” apart is the high production value from producer Yung Gud. The fresh trap beat and drowning synths are a nice compliment to Yung Lean’s flowing rhymes. Hopefully we’ll hear some more great jams from this producer/rapper combo in the near future.
