YUS – Zzz

June 25, 2014

I hold a special affinity in my heart for YUS — not only because I love his music, but because he’s one of the first artists I wrote about after joining Lower Frequencies a couple years back. From then to now I’ve been patiently waiting for a record to compliment the epic single that originally drew me in, “Nowadays”. The waiting has finally come to an end this week as he’s coming off the release of his sophomore record, Talisman. Tracks like “Zzz”, with the fluttering mallets, droning synths, and intertwined vocal harmonies are one of many awesome melodies that are sure to gain the attention of chillwave fans across the globe. So while I look at this record as a great accomplishment from one of my favorite emerging acts, it’s also reflective of the strides the blog has made since we first discovered YUS.
